Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy of V-RIG. This document explains V-RIG’s policies for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.

The Information We Collect

V-RIG collects information by various methods including information actively provided by its lead providers, its customers, and information arising from customer surveys and general feedback.

The types of personal information we collect include name, contact information, identification information and credit information. Credit card information is used for billing purposes only. We may record calls to or from our sales/customer service representatives for purposes of accuracy, performance reviews, training, and general quality assurance.

How We Use This Information

This information is used to aid in the provision of our various products and services, including customer service, accounting, billing, collections, and the marketing of other products services.

V-RIG may use aggregate or anonymous information for various uses for itself and third parties.

Your V-RIG account

If you create an account we hold your email address, your name if you give it, and your password. Your password is stored only as a one-way scrambled form (a hash), so nobody at V-RIG can read it. We also keep the builds you save in the configurator and a short history of when you signed in, with the type of device and an approximate location, so you can spot a sign-in that was not you.

We use this to run your account: to keep you signed in, to show you your saved builds, and to show your orders and support tickets. Your orders are held by our payment provider, Stripe, and your support tickets by our support system; your account looks them up using your confirmed email address, and only once you have confirmed it.

If you share a build, anyone with the link sees the parts in it. They only see your name if you choose to show it on shared builds; they never see your email address. You can stop sharing a build at any time, and the link then stops working.

We send you emails about your account, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password. We only send news and offers if you have asked for them, and you can change that in your account at any time.

Keeping and deleting your account data

You can download everything your account holds, or delete your account, from the Profile section of your account. When you delete your account you are signed out everywhere and your shared links stop working at once. We keep the account for 30 days in case it was deleted by mistake, then erase your profile, saved builds and sign-in history. Records of orders and support requests are kept for as long as the law requires, for example for tax and consumer-rights purposes.

Who We Share This Information With

V-RIG does not share personal information with any third parties except as disclosed in this policy. V-RIG may provide personal information to V-RIG subcontractors and professional advisers (which shall be bound by privacy obligations) to assist V-RIG uses disclosed herein.

Security

Personal information is stored in a combination of paper and electronic files. They are protected by security measures appropriate to the nature of the information.

Accessing Information

Individuals may review their personal information contained in V-RIG files by contacting the V-RIG privacy officer. If an individual believes that any of their personal information is inaccurate, we will make appropriate corrections.

Cookies

Cookies are used by V-RIG for the convenience of our users. Cookies automatically authenticate the user. A user can access the V-RIG Web site with the cookie feature turned off; however, in doing so they may find themselves challenged for username and password information on multiple occasions. V-RIG also uses cookies to track user’s visits and uses that information to improve the user’s experience.

If you sign in, we set one cookie, vrig_session, to keep you signed in. It is strictly necessary for your account to work, contains no advertising or tracking information, and lasts 30 days or until you sign out.

The V-RIG Web site may contain links to information at other Web sites. When you click on one of these links, you are moving to another Web site. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of these linked sites as their privacy policy may differ from ours.

General

V-RIG may amend this policy from time to time. If such amendments affect how V-RIG uses or discloses personal information already held by V-RIG in a material way, V-RIG will obtain consent.

Notwithstanding the general terms of this policy, the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information may be made outside of the terms herein to the extent provided for in any applicable privacy or other legislation in effect from time to time.

V-RIG may disclose personal information to another entity purchasing (including for diligence purposes prior to purchase) the assets of V-RIG, provided that entity abides by this or a similar privacy policy.
